Frequently asked question
Sessions are usually 50 mins. After your first session, Your Psychologist will generally book in your next appointment at the end of each appointment and a discussion around frequency will be discussed. It's based on what works best for you.
Our Psychologists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), which is necessary for providing services eligible for Medicare rebate. Most sessions including individual, family or group session can be claimed through Medicare. However, to access these rebates, you will need a referral known as a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, psychiatrist, or pediatrician. They will assess whether you meet the criteria for a mental health issue, such as anxiety or depression.
Please note that couples counselling are typically not eligible for a Medicare rebate unless the relationship issues are contributing to an associated emotional or mental health issues like anxiety or depression
You can claim up to ten (10) individual sessions and/or ten group sessions per year.
Although not required for your visit, but we recommend obtaining a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP to be eligible for Medicare Rebate of $98.95. Each session fee is $220 for an individual, $240 for couples' session and $260 for a family session or group session with 4-10 people.
Yes, sessions are confidential, however there are limitations to this such as emergencies, age of the clients, needs. This will be further discussed with you during your first session with Esther
At forward mind psychology, your psychologist integrates evidence-based techniques from various modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Schema therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Narrative therapy, among others.
We provide express assessments for adults. Some of the assessments we provide are attention-deficit and hyperactive disorder (ADHD) assessments
